A Joint Stock Company "Magnitogorsky Kalibrovochny Zavod" is one of the largest manufacturers specializing in deep metal processing and producing 12% of all metal items in Russia. On 1October 2002 the Works celebrated the 60-th anniversary.

Post – war history and development of Magnitogorsky Kalibrovochny Zavod was very complicated. It had ups and downs but despite everything it found recognition at the market and it gained a decent reputation among its customers. All products with the brand "OAO MKЗ": machinery building and railway fasteners, cold – rolled steel strip, shape-sized wire, rod steel wire and ropes and other products are well known in Russia and abroad.

"We do our best to meet and satisfy our customers’ needs and requirements and that is not just one more logo but that is the base of our successful business", says director of Magnitogorsky Kalibrovochny Zavod, E. Karpov.

"The union of these three main manufacturers will let us produce high – quality things, extend the range of our products and reduce production costs. All these will make our products more competitive", says general director of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works Victor Rashnikov.

December 2001 was one more turning point in the history of the Works. Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works got control over 82% of shares of Magnitogorsky Kalibrovochny Zavod. The council of directors (top managers) have set up the following aims: To make volume shoot up to 200 thousand tons in 2002 and to 350 in 2003 by means of continuous modernization of equipment and optimization of productive export politics.
