New abilities of Magnitogorsk Steel and Wire Works: galvanized steel wire in rosettes.

Established in 1942, Joint Stock Company “Magnitogorsk Steel and Wire Works”, Russia, specializes in the manufacture of metal products. The company’s portfolio includes steel wire, steel nets, fasteners, electrodes, in both standard in-line items and unique custom-designed parts.
Nowadays the Works is installing a new high-performance hot-galvanizing wire line with rosette coiling. Scheduled to go into full production in October 2004, the line permits a production rate of 1700 tones per month.
The modern system excels in the most demanding applications to serve the needs of the world’s markets. The low-carbon galvanized steel wire, either heat-treated or non-heat-treated, will be offered in various configurations and sizes.

The wire will feature the following characteristics:

Diameter – 1,6-5,0 mm;
Bright zinc coating;
Surface density of zinc – 50-155 g/m2;
Ultimate tensile strength:

Heat-treated – 340-540 N/mm2;
Non-heat-treated – 590-1180 N/mm2 (1,6 mm d),
390-830 N/mm2 (5,0 mm d);

Relative elongation – 12-18%;

Rosette’s weight – up to 1000 kg;

Rosette’s dimensions:

Outer diameter – 850-900 mm,
Internal diameter – 430-600 mm,
Height – 1100-1400 mm.

The rosettes, tied in 4 points with steel tapes, will be packed at customer’s requirements.
