The Managing Company "MMK-METIZ"

By the decision of the hardware-metallurgical and calibrational plants stockholders' meeting in October, 2003, the one-man business authorities were handed over to the «MMK-METIZ» Management Company» Ltd., headed by Alexei Nosov.

The production and hardware sales analysis of the two Magnitogorsk companies, carried out by JSC «MMK» managers, showed that a united centre which would coordinate the industrial and sales activity of both companies, would except the double activity, optimize the quantitative and other economical activities' indexes, watch for the productional capacities and plan the schedule in such a way, that maximum effect and profit would be received, should be created. «MMK-METIZ» Management Company» Has become such a centre.

Magnitogorsk hardware-metallurgical and calibrational plants are well-known in Russia, as well as abroad, as a hi-tech plants and reliable partners, which have an over sixty-year experience in the production of wire, metal gauze, strip, bracing, electrodes and other metallic wares. After the metallurgical plant became the owner of these two large Magnitogorsk plants, the volume of output multiplied by three: 160 thousand tonns of hardware were produced before, and now it is almost 500 thousand tonns.

The MMMZ and MKZ activity together with one of the mighties metallurgical plants in Russia provides considerable advantages. In the past five months since the creation of «MMK-METIZ», a whole series of sufficient changes in the work of the plants took place: one common technical re-equipment and production capacities programme was accepted, reorganization of sales, financial and economical activity, the number of working people was optimized. Thanks to the merging with MMK, the hardware workers have no problems with delivery, which gives sufficient advantaages in the production and the will to increase its market share. To develop the production of such types of production, which will be demanded by the «big metallurgists» is no less important for MMMZ and MKZ. Thus the assemblage of the mill for the powder wire, intended for out-of-furnace cast iron and steel processing for MMK started in MMMZ.

In 2004 «MMK-METIZ» does not plan a sufficient increase in the volume of output in Magnitogorsk plants. The main tasks are to increase the share of highly remunirative kinds of production in the common shipment capacities, further commodity-producing system optimization, the increase of the profit in sales. A lot more attention will be focused upon the technical re-equipment, the mastering of the new production demanded on the market, the lowering of the hardware prime cost, the increase in the production quality.

Social questions are also the prior ones. The main are: further increase in the workers' welfare, their invigoration, the protection of labour, safety measures in the plants and healthy life-style propaganda.
